Downtown Durham Walking Food Tour
Discover Durham's historic past and capture the flavor of the culinary present.
On this guided journey through the streets of downtown Durham we'll be pausing numerous times for sample tastings and personal tales from some of the area's most unique, hidden culinary gems. Along the way, you'll gain some new insights of Durham's "gritty", "eclectic", blue-collar, tobacco & textile roots that are the foundation for this community's now thriving leadership role in medicine, the performing arts and regional cuisine.
The restaurant scene in Durham is thriving and diverse. We'll visit 5-6 different local establishments*, including...
- An iconic Italian restaurant from Raleigh that set up shop in Durham where Pops used to be...
- A sweet stop so good you'll be glad it was
- A very different restaurant experience you will remember from the past ...
- A new entrant in the Asian scene that brings Japanese cuisine into the modern world...and much more.
